The first seconds of a video decide whether people keep watching. Five openings work well: a calm, bold statement; dropping into the middle of a story; calling out one specific person; an honest confession; and a promise with stakes.
Deliver them slowly and directly to the camera. Calm confidence stops more scrolls than shouting.
Do it step by step
- Bold statement: one surprising sentence, then a pause.
- Mid story: start as if they walked in on something already happening.
- Call out: If you have been trying to do X for six months, this is for you.
- Confession: share a real mistake or fear.
- Promise and stakes: what they get, and what it costs to ignore it.
